Furnace Repair

Don’t get left in the cold! Is your furnace acting up, blowing cold air, or making too much noise? Our experienced team of professionals is here to keep your home warm and cozy. We repair all makes and models, and we will never try to sell you a service that you don’t need. Our technicians are honest and hard working, and we’re always transparent and fair about the work we do.

Furnace Replacement

Sometimes a repair is not sufficient to fix your furnace. Sometimes a new furnace is the most cost-effective and energy-efficient way to go. We will always be honest with you about a possible furnace replacement. We value our time and your money––we don’t want to perform repairs or service on an appliance that is in need of replacement.

If you do need a furnace replacement, we know how overwhelming it can be. Here are some of the frequently asked questions about furnaces that we get from some of our Sussex, WI residents:

What Are The Different Types Of Furnaces?

Single Stage: A single-stage furnace has only one stage of operation. It can either be turned on or turned off.

Two Stage: A two-stage furnace has two settings––full and half speed. This is a more efficient way to heat and provides for better comfort, because it can move the air at a slower pace.

Variable Stage or Modulating: A variable-stage or modulating furnace modulates the speed and heat output based on the temperature outside and the desired comfort level. This furnace only works as much as you need it, making this type the most energy-efficient type of furnace.

What Is AFUE?

AFUE, or Annualized Fuel Utilization Efficiency, is a measure of furnace-heating efficiency. The higher the AFUE, the more efficient the furnace.

What Size Furnace Do I Need?

We can calculate the correct size furnace for your home. The number of BTUs, or British Thermal Units, needed to heat your home is dependent on a number of variables. Contrary to what you might think, a bigger furnace may not necessarily mean more heating power for your home. Call us at Interstate Heating Co., and we can set up an appointment to calculate the furnace size you might need.

“Excellent experience … from review of current system, quote process and installation. My election for an install date for both furnaces coincided with an outdoor temperature of minus 4 degrees. All went very smoothly and the house barely cooled at all. A total of 4 installers and an electrician worked the job, and when they left there was nothing left behind for us the pick up. Recommend Interstate highly, and I’ve been told I’m a tough guy to please.”
- Bart M.
“Completely happy they were able to get and install a new furnace same day. We went from no heat to new heat from a new Armstrong furnace!”
- Jeff L.
“Problem:furnace shutting off before achieving desired temperature. Technician spent 30 minutes trying to repeat the problem but couldn’t. He set blower speed up a small amount to keep furnace from overheating.hopefully this solved the issue”
- Bob P.
“Dylan arrived as scheduled and found the problem quickly. He checked everything else and changed the filter for me . Interstate has been our go to since 1992, wouldn’t call anyone else. Excellent service!”
- Theresa S.
“Josh was very nice and professional. I appreciated that he responded to the service call later in the evening. I would recommend Interstate Heating.”
- Kim W.
“Our furnace didn’t appear to be running properly and there was a burning smell coming from the vents. Called Interstate at 3:30pm and a very knowledgeable service rep was at our home by 4pm! After determining the cause and weighing options of repair or replacement, we made the decision to replace. This was on a very cold winter day/ night. A new furnace was installed the very next day (arrival at 7:30 am) and completed in a timely manner. All employees were very kind, answered any questions and knowledgeable. I can’t thank them enough for getting out heat up and running!”
- Emily T.
“From the first phone call to your company to the good by to your service team ant the end of the day after our install, all experiences were absolutely wonderful. We had both an install of a new a/c and gas furnace. Sam and Jason were extremely friendly and professional. Our salesperson Grant was a pleasure to work with. He explained all the details of the systems; no surprises; very good pricing. I would highly recommend Interstate to all my friends and family.”
- Tamara W.
